Vigilant Crown's frost-silver armored hull and compact crown-like command tower dominate Stillwatch's polar harbor above disciplined escort craft.

Now
In service as the Ward’s military flagship and a visible seat of Chapter authority.

A frost-armored capital warship carries Vesper’s command chapter, escort hangars, and a closed tribunal deck. Beneath its imposing bow, an older rescue-light strip still bears witness to the ship it was before emergency rule became permanent.

An evacuation escort called Last Lantern, rebuilt and renamed after the High Chapter consolidated permanent rule.

Protected escort hangars, coordinated patrol command, heavy batteries, and layered armor make the vessel a formidable regional military presence.

The watch does not yield.

Vigilant Crown · ship’s motto

Who has the deck

Aldric Korr, knight-captain of the flagship. A disciplined escort commander who has spent his career delivering people through dangerous crossings. He reports within the Chapter hierarchy and regards Cael’s doubts as both principled and destabilizing.

Last Lantern’s light

A narrow warm-gold approach strip remains beneath the frost-silver bow armor. Older crews still use its original name when guiding a damaged transport into shelter.

What it cannot do

Its mass, maintenance needs, and concentration of command make redeployment deliberate. Firepower cannot supply legitimate evidence or public consent, and the ship does not project sanctuary or player-arrest powers.

A tradition aboard

Before an escort departure, officers repeat the names of the settlements under protection. A reforming crew asks that the same roll also name people detained under its warrants.

Who argues with the captain

Vela Dorn — A former rescue officer who preserved a handover ledger while maintaining the official display. She must explain why private preservation was easier than public acknowledgment.

Four eras, one hull

The six-hour stand

Last Lantern supports the evacuation roads and receives civilian transports through its rescue approach.

The permanent emergency

The High Chapter adds patrol and tribunal functions and renames the vessel Vigilant Crown.

The armor refits

The old rescue light is enclosed beneath a new bastion prow; the public gallery stops at the sixth watch.

Today

A transfer-warrant appeal and a surviving handover ledger put the ship’s rescue oath in conflict with its institutional role.

Aboard

The Chapter Gallery

A restrained hall of armored command stations and oath plaques, with the city’s shelters visible through protected observation ports.

The Vigil Tribunal

A guarded review chamber adjoining transfer holding rooms. Warm lighting and careful procedure do not make its closed evidence fair.

Last Lantern Approach

The original rescue passage beneath newer armor, where an old lamp and worn civilian handrails survive.
